Family Nestum Cake

so today after i came back from my Japanese graduation (had really great adventure on my way back but will post pics tomolo), i decided to bake this cake (as titled above). Why i pick this? cos i got all the ingredients at home oredi ma.. easy so no need to go out and buy (esp now month end and salary not yet out)

This recipe is from "Baking made Easy" by Ms Agnes Chang

Ingredients:-
240g Butter/margarine
200g Castor Sugar
1 tbsp honey
4 eggs
50g nestum
200g self-raising flour, sifted
150 ml milk

Method:-
1. Put butter, sugar n honey in a mixing bowl n cream till light
2. Add in eggs one by one, beating well after each addition till creamy
3. Add nestum and mix well.
4. Divide flour and milk in 3 parts and fold in alternatively till well-combined
5. Pour mixture into a 22cm/9 in line and greased square baking tin, baked in a pre-heated oven at 180 degree C till golden brown and cooked or about 45 mins.
6. Remove from oven and leave to cool before serving.

Tats all. Easy le? I had reduced the sugar to about 150g, actually. cos my family bery health conscious bah... so 150g of sugar is just right lo, not too sweet. i think the cake is too buttery and can probably reduce a little bit (to 200g perhaps? if you are more of the dry cakey person) ... However, the taste of nestum is great. =P

Hi Serene,

I tried the same recipe fr Agnes Chang book and find that we need to make some adjustments to the Nestum Cake Recipe....

Too wet/too moist and really buttery. Agree to reduce the butter a little.
